Junior League of Manatee County is pleased to announce the 2nd annual American Girl Fashion Show will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at the historic Bradenton Municipal Auditorium with three show times to choose from – 10:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. 100% of the proceeds from this fundraiser are guaranteed to go right back into our community benefiting local children in need!
This wholesome event is a fun-filled show for girls and their families, friends and favorite dolls. Accurate historical information for each time period shows how clothing has changed over the years to reflect history, culture and girls’ individual styles to educate while entertaining. Refreshments will be served and every girl attending the show will receive an American Girl goody bag. There will also be door prizes, a variety of raffle prizes, photo opportunities, souvenirs to purchase, a doll hair salon and an American Girl bookstore, just to name a few of the exciting events happening at the shows!
Come celebrate the experience of being a girl, whether yesterday or today, through a colorful presentation of historical and contemporary fashions!
TICKETS
Tickets are currently available for purchase on the Junior League website and at various participating outlets.
All tickets purchased on the website after March 2, 2010 will have to be picked up at the ticket table the day of the event.

10:00am American Girl Fashion Show
Summer Smith is a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor at Bay News 9.
Smith began her broadcasting career as an intern working on ABC's 20/20 in New York City. She then worked as a producer at the ABC affiliate in Tallahassee, Fla., followed by other producing stints at Florida's News Channel in Tallahassee and right here at Bay News 9. After leaving Bay News 9, Smith worked as an anchor at the CBS affiliate in Grand Junction, Colo., the CBS affiliate in Beckley, W.V., and the WB affiliate in Tampa. She's now thrilled to be reporting and anchoring back at Bay News 9.
Smith holds a bachelor of science degree in communications from Florida State University and a master's degree in broadcasting from Florida A&M University.
Smith is a Manatee County native. She has a three year old little boy, Camden. And a little girl on the way!

2009 De Soto Princess
Kimberly Ann Hillman is the 20 year-old daughter of Lynn Marie Hillman. She has blonde hair, blue eyes and enjoys dancing, spending time with family and friends, and fishing. Kimmie is a 2007 graduate of Manatee High School, where she was on the Sugar Canes Dance Team all 4 years (and Captain her Senior Year), a member of Renaissance, Student Council, President of Reinaunce (an all-girls service club), Future Educators of America, the Class Board, Z Club, Manateens and Tracey Vita School of Dance. She was also in the Future Career & Community Leaders of America, a Homecoming Princess nominee and Homecoming Queen Nominee and Prom Queen Nominee. Her senior year she graduated with over 600 community service hours. Kimmie is currently a sophomore at Valencia Community College, maintaining a 3.7 GPA. Here she is a Kindergarten class volunteer for Avalon Elementary, a Deaf Education Sign Language assistant and a member of the Education Club. Kimmie plans on completing her AA and continuing her education with a Degree in Education and a minor in Performing Arts. After college she wants to move back to her home in Bradenton and become a Kindergarten Teacher at Jessie P. Miller Elementary (where I attended School) and hopefully obtain a position as a dance team coach for one of our local high schools.
6:00pm American Girl Fashion Show
Nerissa Prest is the anchor of FOX 13's Good Day Tampa Bay weekend edition. She joined the Good Day team in April of 2007. Along with her anchoring duties, she reports on family lifestyles for FOX 13. As the proud mother of four girls, she also heads "Mom Squad."
Nerissa, a Filipino-American and a California native, was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay area. She is a graduate of California State University Long Beach and the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
Nerissa began her career at CNN Business News in New York City, where she was a news assistant. She made her way to the Tampa Bay area where she was a general assignment reporter and fill-in anchor for Sarasota News Now. She also anchored for News Channel 8 in Tampa.
Nerissa, her husband Paul, and their four girls live in Tampa.
