President's Winter Update
As I look back on this League year right now, I'm thinking, "Where did this year go?" I can’t believe that in just two more months, my tenure as the JLMC President will be over. These last few months will be full of much excitement and growth within our League.
In just a few weeks, the 6th Annual American Girl Fashion Show will take place at Renaissance on 9th on March 1st, 2014. Chair Marcie Hackman has done a phenomenal job planning and preparing for this great fundraiser where 100% of our funds go back into Manatee County. As someone who was part of the very first American Girl Fashion Show, I am impressed with the continued success of this event and look forward to volunteering at it again this year.
I can’t forget discussing our provisionals in this edition of Manatee Memos and I can say I am impressed at the motivation and dedication of these women to Manatee County. After spending Super Saturday with them on January 18th, 2014 and showing them potential project ideas, hoping they could narrow it down to one choice, these motivated women decided to do two projects, Manatee Glens and Hope Family Services. I am honored to have such a great group of women in our organization and can’t wait to see their finished products.
In the next few months, our active membership will be voting on potential community projects and fundraising ideas for the 2014-2015 League year. Stay tuned for updates on this information in the next issue!
